100th Day & Rocket Math

Good Evening, Parents!

I have two more announcements for you! It has been a Monday filled with so much knowledge and joy that I just have to keep sharing!

First, this Friday is our 100th day of school! (can you believe it?!) We look forward to celebrating this in class with your children by counting within and adding up to 100 throughout the entire day!
You may have seen a green slip of paper come home this evening with your child. Please help us celebrate by working with your child to collect 100 items, non-food please, that will fit in a regular sized sandwich bag. Your child will be sharing their 100 items with our class on the 100th day of school. Please send the bag in on Friday morning.

Second, this week we will be transitioning to subtraction in Rocket Math. By no means is this to say that we will no longer be working on addition in class but rather that we will switch our main focus over to subtraction. Nothing will change when it comes to our routines in class or at home except for that your children will now be completing subtraction problems instead of addition. Please make sure to practice each Rocket Math subtraction sheet (oral or written) sent home for 1 minute every night. This will help your children to soar through the rocket math levels when they are assessed in class!

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns!

Thanks so much!
